Kingman Regional Medical Center Named 5-Star Forbes Top Hospital

Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) has been named one of the top hospitals in Arizona in the inaugural 2026 Forbes list of “Top Hospitals by State.” KRMC is the only hospital recognized in the region—and one of only five hospitals in the state to earn an overall 5-Star rating, the highest possible ranking from Forbes. Across the country, only 259 of 6,100 hospitals were named as a 5-Star by Forbes.

Forbes created its Top Hospitals list by analyzing publicly available healthcare data to help patients make informed healthcare decisions. Forbes reviewed 56 best-in-class measurements designed to evaluate hospital results in four categories — patient outcomes, adherence to hospital best practices, value of care, and patient experience. The review placed the greatest emphasis on clinical outcomes. 

To account for differences among hospital systems and locations, the results were adjusted for clinical risk factors and social determinants of health – the nonmedical factors that influence health outcomes such as birthplace, where a person lives, works and a person’s age – which can influence disease prevalence and patient outcomes. This adjustment was designed to provide a more equitable comparison of hospital quality despite differences in location and patient populations.
