Tanya Smith, AGACNP

Tanya Smith is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and an Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse.. She is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. As a hospitalist nurse practitioner, Smith provides advanced nursing care to adult patients with a range of health issues, from heart and lung conditions to endocrine disorders. She performs health assessments, orders and interprets tests, and otherwise manages the treatment of hospitalized patients.

Smith has extensive experience in many areas of patient care, including medical-surgical care, pediatric care, intensive care, progressive care, and nurse education. Smith has worked as a registered nurse at KRMC since 2000. Noticing a need for additional providers and knowing she could make a difference, she chose to advance her career and become a nurse practitioner.

Before she began her nursing career, Smith cared for patients as a physical therapy technician.

Smith emphasizes the importance of providing the "best quality of care possible to each and every patient," regardless any other factors.
