Robotic-Assisted, Minimally Invasive Procedures
Kingman Regional Medical Center offers robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Xi surgical system. Surgeons across specialties can use this system to perform a variety of procedures with less pain, fewer complications, and quicker recovery time than a traditional surgery.
What is the da Vinci Xi?
The da Vinci Xi is an advanced, high-definition system that allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures using small surgical instruments. In a robotic-assisted procedure, the surgeon sits at a console near the patient and controls the instruments in real time through a small incision.
Why have robotic-assisted surgery?
This type of procedure differs from traditional—or open—surgery, which often requires more invasive incisions into the skin and muscle tissues. The system includes features designed for accuracy, efficiency, and patient safety, such as:
- A 3D, high definition camera with 10x magnification so your surgeon can see structures of the body in greater detail
- Tiny, flexible instruments with full range of motion so your surgeon can operate through small incisions
With a minimally invasive procedure, patients often experience less pain, recover faster, and have reduced risk for complications.
Ask your surgeon if a procedure with da Vinci Xi is right for you.
