About Me
As a skilled physical medicine and rehabilitation physician (called a Physiatrist), Dr. Thien Ngo specializes in helping people function to the best of their ability after a debilitating injury or chronic illness. In addition to seeing patients on an outpatient basis, he also serves as Medical Director of KRMC's Acute Rehabilitation Unit.
With his extensive training, Dr. Ngo focuses on the functioning of nerves, muscles, and bone. He specializes in evaluating skeletal muscle and nerve function with such tests as electromyography and nerve conduction studies. He also manages musculoskeletal disorders and pain using ultrasound guided injections in the peripheral joints, medications, and physical therapy. With his broad medical expertise, he is able to address a range of disabling conditions, from carpal tunnel syndrome to spinal cord injuries.
Aiming to restore his patients’ daily functioning and improving their quality of life, Dr. Ngo develops a comprehensive program for putting the pieces of the person's life back together after a debilitating injury or disease. He focuses on the whole person and addresses all aspects of the patient’s life that the condition affects, including their physical, emotional, and social circumstances.
In describing his approach to patient care, Dr. Ngo states, "Without proper follow-through and care, it is easy for a newly disabled person to become frustrated, discouraged, and depressed. My aim is to help them live life to the fullest."
