About Me

Dr. Fredriksen attended the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by a fellowship in neuroradiology.

As a diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Fredriksen reads medical images to detect disease or injury in internal organs, tissues, and bone. He specializes in interpreting X-rays, mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI scans, CT scans, and PET scans. He is also skilled in image-guided medical procedures, such as inserting catheters in veins, draining abscesses, or performing biopsies, which can be much safer and faster with the aid of imaging technology. Additionally, he has specific expertise in neuroradiology – diagnosing diseases of the brain and spine.

One of the Mayo Clinic’s core tenets guides his patient care approach: "The needs of the patient come first. To me, that signifies quality care, and everything else stems from that. " he says.

He appreciates the group of fellow radiologists he works with at KRMC, saying "together we provide comprehensive care in multiple areas of diagnostic radiology. "

"I want patients to know that we can bring new and developing neurological imaging techniques to this region. I encourage patients who may have undiagnosed health issues to talk to their doctors about screenings we offer at KRMC. "
