Dr. Hesham Sahawneh began his medical career as a US Navy Corpsman. He served for five years, during which he furthered his field medicine and combat readiness training in Okinawa, Japan. He returned to the United States to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Arizona State University. He then attended the University of Des Moines in Iowa to earn his doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. He interned in surgery at Flint Osteopathic Hospital in Michigan, followed by a residency in General Surgery in Trenton, Michigan.
Dr. Sahawneh has practiced general surgery in Kingman since 1997. As an Osteopathic surgeon, he adheres to the philosophy of treating the whole patient and not just isolated symptoms. Dr. Sahawneh is board certified in General Surgery with over 25 years of surgical experience. He commonly provides surgical treatment for hernia, conditions of the gallbladder, breast cancer, colon cancer, and gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), among other conditions. Additionally, he performs colonoscopy and vasectomy procedures among many others. Most procedures can be accomplished with minimally-invasive techniques; some require only a single small incision.
