Amina R. Loucas, FNP-C
As a nurse practitioner, Amina Rachel Loucas treats adult patients, from young adults to the elderly. She specializes in geriatric care and chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
Loucas has provided care to patients for over ten years. She began her nursing career in medical-surgical nursing in 2009 and became a nurse practitioner in 2014. She has a wide range of experience – from providing hospice care and nursing home care, to primary care in both urban and rural settings.
Her patient care philosophy involves using a wholistic approach to health and illness. This includes teaching patients about self-care, appropriate diet, moderate exercise, stress management and healthy sleep patterns.
She emphases the importance of using available community resources to maintain a healthy lifestyle. For example, outdoor exercise is free and easily accessible for many people. "Diet, exercise, and sleep are the foundations of good health, and good health makes life sweeter," says Loucas.
