Catch it Early Program

Our goal is to reduce breast cancer death in
Mohave County, Arizona.

Thanks to grants and community donations, we offer free breast cancer
screening to thousands of Mohave County women each year.

In 2020, 82 local women were diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer through our program. When breast cancer is discovered early, most people survive to live full, active lives.

*Note: our online giving service is currently unavailable. To make a donation to the KRMC Catch it Early program, please contact Ben McGlothlin at 928-263-3873.

Finding breast cancer early is crucial

Breast cancer begins when cells located in the breast start to grow out of control. In time, these abnormal cells can invade other tissues and organs in the body. If not detected and treated in time, breast cancer kills. But, if breast cancer is discovered and treated while the cancer cells are still confined in the breast, most people survive to live full, active lives.

Providing free screening mammograms and other breast health services

Through the KRMC “Catch It Early” program, we offer:

  • “Free” (no out-of-pocket cost) screening mammograms to uninsured and underinsured women in Mohave County age 40 and over who have not had a screening mammogram in the previous year.
  • Free or reduced-cost breast diagnostic services (e.g., diagnostic mammogram, breast ultrasound, biopsy) for qualified uninsured/underinsured Mohave County residents who have an abnormal screening result.
  • Free breast health navigation services to support patient needs throughout the breast cancer diagnostic and treatment process.

Schedule your mammogram today – (928) 692-2727

If you are age 40 or older, a resident of Mohave County, and have not had a mammogram within 12 months, you may qualify for a free 3D screening mammogram. You can schedule your mammogram directly and do not need an order from your healthcare provider.

If approved, we will bill your insurance company and the Catch It Early program will cover any remaining cost. If you do not have insurance, you will be linked to additional programs to cover the full cost of your mammogram and other breast health services.

If you are younger than 40, please talk to your healthcare provider about what screening methods are right for you.
