KRMC FOUNDATION PROJECTS & INITIATIVES

The KRMC Foundation's projects and initiatives are aimed at achieving a healthier more vital community

With generous gifts from individuals, corporations, private foundations, and grant-making entities, the KRMC Foundation focuses resources on a wide variety of community needs.

The following describes the Foundation's current projects and initiatives.  Please check back often to learn of new ways we're helping in the community.

Meeting End-of-Life Needs

The KRMC Foundation is currently focusing most of its fundraising activities on building and operating a $2.6 million hospice home in Kingman, Arizona.  The Joan & Diana Hospice Home will serve individuals who are dying and do not have a caregiver or who live in remote areas not served by a hospice service.

Additionally, proceeds from the Foundation's Wall of Fame go toward the purchase of clothing, grooming supplies, and other necessary items not covered by insurance for patients in the KRMC Hospice Program.

Giving Newborns a safe start

Donations to the KRMC Foundation provide growth mats and car seats for babies born at KRMC.

Teaching Children Healthy Living Skills

The KRMC Foundation sponsors Project Fit America at community elementary schools to help kids be active, fit, and healthy.

Providing equipment to help save lives

With proceeds from the "Music is the Doctor" event, the KRMC Foundation will  purchase defibulators for area communties.  The defibulators can provide immediate life-saving treatment to someone with cardiac arrest and will be placed in high-traffic public areas.

Fighting Breast Cancer

In partnership with the Well Woman Healthcheck Program and with a grant from the Phoenix Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Foundation sponsors KRMC's "Catch It Early" program to provide free breast cancer screening to uninsured or underinsured women.  The goal of the program is to save lives by detecting breast cancer when it's at a earlier, more survivable, stage.

Helping People Stay Active and Healthy

The KRMC Foundation provides scholarships for qualified individuals who cannot afford a membership to the Del E. Webb Wellness Center.

Supporting Tomorrow's Nurses

To meet our community's continuing need for skilled nurses, the KRMC Foundation funds scholarships to help nursing students with their educational costs.

Relieving Financial Hardship from Healthcare Bills

The KRMC Foundation provides funds  to help uninsured or underinsured patients of KRMC with their hospital costs.
