KRMC “Tops Out” its Newest Wing

On Thursday, March 22, 2007 Kingman Regional Medical Center celebrated the “topping out” of its new Cardiovascular Center currently under construction.

The new KRMC Cardiovascular Center is a 12,300 square foot facility with two cath labs and shell space for another one. It will have twelve prep/recovery beds and additional support areas. The project was started in late November of 2006 and is scheduled to be done the first week of October 2007. There has been approximately 500 cubic yards of concrete as well as 70 tons of steel used on this project.

During the ceremony, representatives of the Hospital, Architect – Morfeld Ray Associates, and General Contractor – T.R. Orr, Inc. signed the last beam for the "topping out" before it was erected. This is done for three reasons: 1) it signifies a major milestone in the project construction; 2) it develops a real sense of pride in the building for all involved and 3) lets the public know the progress of the project that will ultimately benefit the community.
