Community Survey Yields Great Feedback

In September, Kingman Regional Medical Center conducted a community survey that was mailed to 6,500 random households in its primary service area. The purpose of the survey was to gauge the community’s perception of hospital services and obtain feedback to be used for further improvement. All participants who included their contact information were eligible for a drawing of five $100 cash prizes held on September 28th.

KRMC was pleased that 75% of respondents indicated that KRMC had improved over the past three years – 40% said the Hospital had improved greatly. 80% of respondents had a very good or good overall impression of KRMC, with only 7% having a poor or very poor impression.

The survey showed that Diagnostic Imaging / X-Ray, Hospice, Cardiac Services/ Cath Lab, Laboratory Services and the Del Webb Wellness Center were KRMC’s top rated services.

While KRMC has made considerable progress in improving ER wait times, with overall time in the ER at KRMC nearly 2 hours shorter than other Arizona hospitals, more improvement is needed. Approximately 20% of survey respondents advised that wait in the ER remains too long at times. Survey results also pointed to a strong demand for additional physicians in our community.

Although most physicians are not employed by the Hospital, 73% of respondents felt that it was very important for KRMC to actively recruit for physicians to come into town. Only 3% said that is was not important. Primary care was the most often cited physician specialty needed.
