KRMC Receives New Quilts from Project Linus

Members of Project Linus recently visited the KRMC Pediatric and Perinatal units to present over 40 quilts that made for patients. Visiting members included Jo Adams, Barbara Barnes, Jenny Giffin, Janice Kelsey, Bobbie Koch, Cindy Kramer (coordinator), Pat McCans, Amy O'Reilly, Joan Quimby and Zeretha Wilkinson.

Project Linus, started in 1994, is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization with a two-fold mission:

1. Provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and Afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers".

2. Provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities for the benefit of children.

The Kingman chapter, spearheaded by Cindy Kramer and Jo Adams, started in January, 2006. The volunteers donate their time and materials to make the quilts, usually working from home. They meet once a month to collect the completed quilts and sew tags to note the blanket was donated through Project Linus.

For additional information about the organization you can contact Cindy Kramer at 692-9200 or Jo Adams at 692-5390.
