KRMC Celebrates Graduation of Medical Residents

A graduation recognition dinner for medical residents of Kingman Regional Medical Center was held on Saturday, June 9 at Shugrue's Restaurant in Lake Havasu City. Approximately eighty guests were in attendance. Five interns, three Family Practice residents and four Emergency Medicine residents were recognized at the event. This was the first graduating class from Emergency Medicine for KRMC.

Each of the graduating residents were given a pin depicting the Staff of Asclepius, the symbol for Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Kelli Ward, Director of Graduate Medical Education at KRMC, led the program with opening remarks and Dr. Robert Matheny gave the invocation. The keynote speaker was Dr. Lori Kemper, who is the incoming Executive Director of the AZ GME Consortium and incoming Dean of the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Residents were presented with certificates by each of their program directors. Certificates were presented by Dr. Waldemar Klimach to the interns, Dr. Michael Proctor to the Dermotology residents, Dr. Donald Morgan to the Family Practice residents and Dr. Michael Sheehy to the Emergency Medicine residents. Following the presentation of certificates, a slide show of the graduating residents was shown.

The event was sponsored by KRMC, Midwestern University, and Arizona Emergency Medicine Specialists.
