Imaging Services

We have invested millions of dollars in imaging technology because we recognize its importance in saving lives. KRMC has upgraded the Department’s MRI, CT and Mammography equipment - here are some of the features that are now offered:

Digital Mammography – KRMC is one of a handful of hospitals in the state to offer digital mammography testing. This machine is designed to generate digital mammography images that can be used for screening and diagnosing breast cancer. Digital Mammography is seen as the biggest advancement in mammography in 30 years because the tests are clearer, more accurate and twice as fast.

Lightspeed MultiSlice CT Scanner – This machine enables practitioners to scan simultaneously multiple slices of the anatomy in less than one second. It produces exceptionally clear image quality, shorter scan times, facilitating accurate non-invasive diagnoses and enhanced patient care. KRMC uses this machine for cardiac scoring, which is a revolutionary, pain free, non-invasive and inexpensive procedure. The CT takes 70—90 images of your coronary arteries to determine the amount of plaque or calcium in your arteries.

1.5T Signa MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is used to produce pictures of your internal organs and structures. The Signa MRI provides unsurpassed imaging, imaging reconstruction and image processing power that significantly enhances clinical productivity. KRMC has the capability of using this machine for MR angiography and MR breast imaging. This machine offers superior image quality and shorter exam times.

Mobile PET Scanner – A Positron Emission Tomography or PET scan is a test that looks at cell functioning, rather than patient anatomy to find irregularities. This test is used in patients who have had, or are believed to be at higher risk for having cancer cells within their body. PET can determine whether or not cancer cells exist and where they are located. It is believed that PET will be used more and more for diagnosing other conditions including: Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Congestive Heart Failure.

We at KRMC are proud to be recognized as the region’s leader in imaging services. We are able to evaluated and diagnose patient conditions more accurately and quickly than ever before.
