Planned Giving/Estate Planning
What is Planned Giving?
Planned Giving allows an individual to make a contribution of stocks,
cash or property to a charitable organization such as the KRMC Foundation
in their will or trust.
How Do I Benefit From a Planned Gift?
Planned Giving, provides tax advantages for the donor by reducing
capital gains, gift and estate taxes so that the maximum amount
goes to the beneficiary rather than being consumed by taxes.
What Can I Give?
The donation can include a specific dollar amount, a percentage of
your estate or specific property.
Why Do I Need a Will?
Creating a detailed will is critical to ensuring that your estate
will continue to yield benefits to your family and to the organizations
that are important to you in line with your wishes. Most people
think that you must be wealthy to have a will. Nothing is further
from the truth. An estate can be $1,000 to $1 million and each
should be treated with equal importance. By preparing a will now,
your estate can avoid unnecessary delays, legal complications,
and substantial tax implications.
How Do I Name KRMC as a Beneficiary?
We recommend that you consult with an attorney in preparing your
will. Our hospital counsel, Bill Porter, is experienced in planned
giving and estate planned. Mr. Porter has generously offered his
expertise to those interested in donating a gift to our Foundation.
He has agreed to complete your will at no cost as a thank you for
your generous gift.
