Employee of the Month – August 2007

Morgan Carroll, an ICU Nurse, is the Employee of the Month for August. Morgan demonstrates the Fish Philosophy by always working with a teamwork approach. “She greets everyone with a smile,” stated one co-worker, “and always tries to help others when needed.” She treats patients and their families like they are her own family.

Morgan is a true patient advocate. She assists in making appropriate arrangements for better patient care by working with doctors, pharmacists, social workers and other healthcare team members. She orders special items from the dinner menu to make a patient’s day. Often, Morgan visits her patients after they leave the department to see how they are doing. “She is loved by her patients and their families, fellow staff and doctors,” stated her supervisor.

Morgan has been with KRMC for over 25 years. In that time, she became one of the first in her field to obtain Critical Care certification in Cardiology. She has also been an ACLS instructor for over 15 years. She continues her education to provide the best quality and most up-to-date standard of care. Morgan truly loves working at KRMC and states, “I enjoy the long-time collegial relationships here at the hospital with people of excellence.”

When she’s not at work, Morgan enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to Jack Gunnoe and they have been together for 11 years. Morgan has four stepchildren and multiple grandchildren. She enjoys crossword puzzles, reading, and traveling and has visited Ireland more than 10 times.

Congrats to Morgan on being selected as employee of the month and keep up the great work!
