At this time, Kingman Regional Medical Center is not collecting blood for victims of the shooting in Las Vegas. KRMC works with United Blood Services (UBS) out of Las Vegas for blood donation. UBS is working in Las Vegas currently to collect blood for victims in need. They have indicated the possibility of establishing a blood donation site in Kingman; however this is not yet confirmed. We will notify the public as new information becomes available.
-Update- Monday 4:09pm
Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) continues to receive calls from local residents wanting to donate blood to shooting victims in Las Vegas. KRMC works with United Blood Services (UBS) to conduct area blood drives. UBS is the same blood donation service used by hospitals in Las Vegas. (Hospitals are not staffed or equipped to acquire donated blood from the public.)
We are in contact with officials at UBS, who are currently coordinating staff and equipment from their multi-city network to establish additional centers for blood donation in Las Vegas. If they need additional blood from the Mohave County area and if enough UBS resources become available, KRMC will sponsor an emergency UBS drive in Kingman. We will immediately notify the public of the place and time.
Additionally, KRMC is in close contact with emergency responders and hospitals in Las Vegas. We are poised to assist with medical care if our resources are needed. We will continue to post information as details are known.
Thank you to everyone who is reaching out to help. It is evidence of our community’s true generosity, caring, and concern.
