Preferred Home Delivery Program

As with most employers, KRMC continues to face the challenge of rising health care costs each year. Medical plan costs — and, in particular, the cost of prescription drugs — continue to rise.

Together with Express Scripts, our pharmacy vendor, we’re working to make our prescription drug coverage more affordable. As a result, beginning July 1, 2010, we will be implementing the Prescription Preferred Home Delivery Program. If you are taking maintenance medications (maintenance medications are those drugs taken regularly for long-term conditions) you will receive a letter from Express Scripts explaining the program in detail.

KRMC gift shop

Comments Off

Our gift shop is entirely run by volunteers, from the buyers, to the cashiers, to the ladies that dust the shelves and put out the wonderful merchandise. It is a non-profit shop; therefore, there is no sales tax charged to the customers. The money that the gift shop makes is used to benefit KRMC through donations of purchased equipment for the hospital departments and scholarships for students pursuing careers in medical fields.

The gift shop offers a wide variety of merchandise: fresh flowers, baby items, greeting cards, candy, balloons, stuffed animals, jewelry and other personal items. The buyer is always looking for new and different items to offer in the shop.

The shop also carries used books for sale. The books are all donated by KRMC staff and other members of the community. All the money made from the sale of used books is placed in the Scholarship fund for college students. Donations of used books are always welcome.

The gift shop hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM and Saturday and Sunday noon to 4:00. Stop by to see the specials, gift ideas and fun shopping.

EMRs are on the way

Electronic Medical Records are Coming!

Over the next year and a half, you’ll be seeing some changes in the hospital’s inpatient areas, as well as in local physicians’ offices.

These changes are part of our changeover to an EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.

The purpose of using an EMR system is to make it much easier for medical professionals to get access to important information in patient’s medical and treatment history, as well as to facilitate tracking of treatments.

We’ll update you as we progress, so stay tuned for more information!
