KRMCGeneral information
The volunteer of the month for August is one of our favorite cart drivers, Stanley French. Stan has been volunteering at KRMC for over six years and has given more than six hundred hours of his time to KRMC.
Stan was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. After completing school, he went into the Air Force for four years. After he left the Air Force, he began to work for Montgomery Ward, where he would spend the next 36 years working in the service and repair department. He tried to retire once but ended up going back to work part time for something to do until the store closed for good.
After he fully retired, Stan and his wife Sharon moved to Kingman. The French’s opted to move to Kingman because Bakersfield had got too big and the pollution too bad. Kingman offered similar weather with nicer people, and the small town feel they had growing up.

The votes came in this morning, and it was Ryan Kennedy, KRMC COO, who was selected for the coveted role. Video after the jump…

Karla Calumet
We’re pleased to welcome Karla Calumet to the KRMC team! Karla recently joined us as the new Director of Hospice. In addition to taking on the many responsibilities of our Hospice program, Karla is a professor in the University of Liverpool’s Master of Public Health Programme.
Previously, Karla consulted in healthcare with the Sutter Health system in California, which resulted in a radio program, interviewing medical experts on cutting edge healthcare topics.
Currently, Karla is working to complete her dissertation for her doctorate as a Health Psychologist, with a focus on cancer and hope. Having completed two years of medical school with her Masters in Health Administration, she is always looking toward how people can be proactive and live healthier lives.
In her free time, she enjoys a wide variety of activities with her family and friends from bicycling to scuba diving, and enjoying nature whenever she can. She’s looking forward to exploring around here in Arizona.
Welcome aboard, Karla! We’re glad you’re here.
